Bill Moyers on America

Bill Moyers will start a new series this week looking at issues in America. This week's premier episode will explore Jack Abramoff, Tom DeLay, and the connections of their corrupt lobbying efforts with the White House and Congress.

Later shows will discuss the rift in the fundamentalist churches between those who believe stewardship of the earth is important and support doing something about global warming, and those who support our current administration above all else.

Eyes Wide Open

I just returned from the moving Eyes Wide Open display in Menomonie. The display consists of sixty pairs of boots representing the Wisconsin casualties from the Iraq war.

This is a sad reminder of one of the costs of the war. Every hour there is a reading of the names of the Wisconsin dead, alternated with names of Iraqis who have been killed in the war.

If you have a chance, visit the display today (Nov. 29).

Wal-Mart and Organic Food - Try to say them both in one sentence.
