Administration loses GITMO case

The Supreme Court ruled 5-4 this morning that the Bush administration and the military have no right to prosecute 300 prisoners held at Guantanamo. This is yet another blow to the Bush Administration's plans to hold and prosecute enemy combatants. The full details are not yet clear on this, but the court ruled this morning that the prisoners have the right to a civilian trial. This is the third ruling against the prosecution of enemy combatants.
The rule of law is making a comeback.

Hi! We are on OOIBC together. Anyway.. I about did a few cartwheels when I read the news this morning.
I have http://freedetainees.org so it's directly related - and it's fantanstic. I wonder if Boosh will try anything else to block it? Like another abuse of his executive power? I don't think so.
You know, I get all sorts of comments about how pointless it is for me to be working on the detainee issue. Well, I certainly don't think so - and look... it is getting better! This IS progress!
