Ain't we got fun? Neumann vs. Walker in GOP dogfight
Scott Walker, who napped under the tree a little too long while delaying his own gubernatorial announcement, doesn't even get a clean announcement day.
Big Jim Klauser, the former Co-Governor, laid the groundwork with a letter praising Neumann, and now Neumann himself says he will get into the race by October.
Some of Klauser's comments say more about Scott Walker than they do about Mark Neumann, a former Congressman:
"(Neumann's) created jobs. He understands what it’s like to be a small businessman. He’s involved in education reform and choice schools. He’s been in elected office so he understands that. He’s worked on a budget at the federal level. He’s the best qualified candidate we have." Emphasis mine.
Another, from his letter:
It is time to elect an individual who values job and economic growth, educational choice, and who understands you can’t live beyond your means; someone who has real life experience. (My emphasis again)So who doesn't have real life experience? That other professional politician running in the primary, apparently. Neumann doesn't have to trash Walker; he's got a surrogate to do it. (Although Klauser would never want to be described as anyone's surrogate. Sometimes it seemed like Tommy T was his, in the old days.)
So, who's Walker going to recruit to pick up the cudgel on his side?
Gentlemen, choose your weapons. And don't feel you have to wait until October.
By all means, have at it.
