As The West Dries Out, It Will Come For Great Lakes Water

Parched States Will Look To The Great Lakes: Protective Agreement Still On Hold

The US West is drying up. Years of drought, warming temperatures, in-migration by the millions all makes for a very unsustainable situation.

It's almost inevitable that the arid west will look to the Great Lakes for relief.

The pending Great Lakes Compact amendments add a level of legal protection by creating formal standards and rules that govern diversions.

The commonsense legal and political approach to managing these waters is something that Waukesha County politicos and Chamber of Commerce leaders just cannot grasp.

The longer they block the Compact's adoption and implementation in Wisconsin, the more they put the entire resource at risk.

Interesting...

That's very interesting. I've been blogging on global warming for a few months now, but I haven't considered things like this before. I think people really don't understand how this could cause significant changes in our lives.
