Saving Sarah
Posted September 26th, 2008 by adminSo the grand plan unfolds ---
McCain suspends his campaign because the nation needs saving -- then goes in and sabotages the bailout plan by throwing in a whole new plan that nobody was thinking of - ensuring that there'll be no deal.
There's no deal - so you have to not show up for the presidential debate tonight.(and I think it's more than a little ironic that after McCain's attempts to goad Obama into Town Hall Meetings the format of the debate is probably going to be a Town Hall Meeting with Barack Obama - what else can they do?)
Then - and this is the genius part --- since the Presidential debate was postponed, Lindsay Graham now says that they want to put the presidential debate in where the vice-presidential debate should have been , thereby saving Sarah Palin from having to - you know, actually talk to people.
Lessee here - I think the next plan is to move the Vice-Presidential debate to Nov. 5.
From the Convention Floor
Posted August 25th, 2008 by adminI'm on the floor of the Convention, which has been running for about an hour. The primary functional highlight thus far is the report from the Credentials Committee, which indicated that they are giving full votes to the contested states that were previously given 1/2 votes. No surprise there.
One of the questions of the evening is whether Ted Kennedy will actually appear as a speaker. He's in town, agains his doctor's advice, but the last I heard, at least officially, it was not clear if he was going to appear in person or on a video hookup.
Patricia Madrid, the attorney General of New Mexico is currently giving the Platform Committee report.

Posted June 13th, 2008 by adminSome time over the weekend we'll be introducing a new feature on Uppity Wisconsin - Legislative Profiles. With some help from our great good friends at the Sunlight Foundation, we will have a profile for each of your federal legislators, with a lot of information about them, where their donations come from, and a lot more.
Well - that was less work than I'd thought. It's a little rough around the edges, but the Wisconsin Federal Legislature profiles are now on-line. Click on the legislators name in the block on your left, and learn about their contributors, earmarks, and funding in their districts. Let us know if this is helpful information.
