The Beav wonders why candidates never discuss the relevance of education in the overall scheme of trade and labor. Comparative Advantage, a term I know many will need to look up (oh yeah, that's why they don't bring it up, too many people don't know what it is), rules trade. In very short, if we educate our workforce to have comparative advantage in higher skilled, higher paying work, then our workforce will live better. We need to stop fighting to keep jobs at sock factories and use our rediculous financial resources to educate the vast majority of our population on the real value of education. Until we do that, virtually all rosy talk about "fixing" trade agreements is just that, talk. If we succeed in fighting for lower skilled jobs, then we only condemn ourselves to a cycle of lower wages and lower standards of living. BTW, Real Wisconsin News has made our long awaited endorsement.
