Conservation Voters Meeting Eau Claire

Greetings All!
Here’s a reminder email about the community conservation meeting
tomorrow Oct. 5 at 7:00 pm at the Chippewa Valley Technical College in
the Business Education Center (620 West Clairemont), and we’ll be up in
Rm 235.
I’m looking forward to meeting all of you, most of you for the first
time. At the meeting we’ll start with short presentations on each
of the focus issues. Some of you expressed interest in reading more
and passing information along to friends you think are interested in
attending so I attached info briefs on each of our key issues.
We’ll then have a discussion of the most appropriate ways to bring
these issues to the Rep. Robin Kreibich’s and Jeff Smith’s attentions
(e.g. writing letters to the editor, shadowing the candidates and asking
them questions, meeting with the candidates in-district, etc). Our
experience thus far has shown that candidates are listening very closely
to what their constituents want right now, which give us this rare
opportunity to get our message across to them.
This is a perfect chance to make our voice heard. And won’t it
feel good to end this project on Nov. 7th knowing that you
made a real difference promoting conservation during this election
season? This meeting should be a neat opportunity to meet other
conservation-minded people from the area and talk with them about issues
you feel are important. The meetings I’ve organized in other
districts have been pretty fun and very informative. There’ll be
snacks available too, although if anyone else has something tasty they
want to bring, feel free.
Additionally, if you know any others who would be interested in
attending, a friend, neighbor, spouse…, please invite them. Word of
mouth is the best way to pass along these sorts of messages. If
everyone got just one person to come with, we’d beat the number of folks
that turned out to previous meetings.
Parking is available in the staff lots and permits aren’t required
because it’s the evening.
