Peace North is a small but very dedicated group of peace and social justice activists in Northern Wisconsin. Our activities include local vigils, bi-monthly free-to-the-public movie presentations on a variety of social topics, organizing busses with other groups for national demonstrations, sumitting weekly editorials to our local newspaper, letter-writing campaigns to politicians, collecting signatures for the Troop Withdrawal Referendom, and sponsoring other local and regional events.

Burlington Area Progressives

THE BURLINGTON AREA PROGRESSIVES
Who We Are - Where We Stand

The Burlington Area Progressives (The BAP) is a non-profit, non-partisan and unaffiliated grass-roots organization. We seek in the tradition of the founders to promote open and accountable government, representative of The People, promoting the common good, and protective of our inalienable rights.

Progressives are concerned with American values of Freedom, Social Justice, Education, Health Care, Ecology, Responsible Commerce, Voting Rights, a Government of Laws not Men and America’s Role in the World -- among many other issues. We believe in personal freedom wedded to community responsibility.

Working together we can turn back the tide of ignorance and corruption tearing at our democracy and return America to the progressive values on which the country was founded, and which made the United States a beacon of freedom and hope throughout the world. Those governed in the interest of others are not free.

Join us at burlingtonareaprogressives [at] yahoogroups [dot] com. We can be contacted at (262) 237-4351 or burlingtonareaprogressives [at] yahoo [dot] com. Additional information on our grass-roots, issue oriented organization can be obtained at our website: www.burlingtonareaprogressives.com.

TRUE PATRIOTISM RISES ONLY FROM THE UNDERSTANDING AND DEFENSE OF AMERICA’S FOUNDING PRINCIPLES. HELP SAVE OUR CONSTITUTION AND RESTORE OUR DEMOCRACY!

Since forming in August 2005, we have successfully organized the following informative and entertaining events:

•	Ed Garvey of FightingBob.com – Political Corruption and Recapturing our Democracy.
•	Darcy Haber of Wisconsin Citizen Action - Fair Share for Health Care.
•	Billy Feitlinger of Wisconsin Association for retired Citizens – Saving Social Security.
•	Documentary Film – Wal-Mart, the High Cost of Low Price.
•	Dave Berkman of Wisconsin Public Radio – Media Misreporting on the War.
•	Ken Hall of SAFER Racine Partnership – Fiscally Responsible Government and Criminal Justice.
•	Michael Fields Ag Inst. – Sustainable and Community Supported Agriculture.
•	John Nichols, Capitol Times Newspaper and The Nation Magazine – Media Spin, Wars and Politics.
•	Mike McCabe of Wisconsin Democracy Campaign – Political Corruption in Wisconsin.
•	Fundraiser to Support Returning Vets, Their Families and The BAP – Bobby Rockets in Lyons, WI.

INTEGRITY MATTERS! PRINCIPLES NOT PARTISANSHIP!

Cambrians for Thoughtful Development

Cambrians for Thoughtful Development are a diverse group of citizens living in and around the village of Cambria in Columbia County, Wisconsin. We organized in 2002 in opposition to plans by Didion Milling to build an ethanol plant here in Cambria and within a quarter mile of our schools. Although the citizens of Cambria rejected the plant in 2003, in April of 2006 we learned that the same company is seeking to build an ethanol plant a scant 22 feet south of our village border.

Our web site represents the collected research, thoughts, and history of our ongoing fight.
