House Dems and GOP fighting over the Light Switch

Just when you think congressional behavior cannot possibly become more infantile, you're proved wrong.

The house adjourned today for the session, but in protest some GOP members have refused to leave, wanting to discuss off-shore drilling, and the (so-called) Republican Energy Plan.  The Dems shut off the lights and microphones, but the GOP members stayed.

At the moment this has apparently devolved into a complete circus.  Don't try to watch it on CSPAN - their cameras are shut off as well.  Lights and sound system are going on and off and on and off.

Truth is,

I can honestly say that I despise Republicans.

Really, I mean personally decent, fine people in their lives I'm sure; I'm not judging them on a personal level; but I guess living under seven years of Bush and the heinous things these people do in electoral politics and public policy that impacts real people, I really do not want the company of Republicans in my personal life.

The bigotries, the know-nothing views, the lies, the authoritarian mindset, as a Dane County politico once said, 'They, political Republicans, are not, by and large, like you and me, only with different views. They are mean-spirited and will play on fear and hatred in their pursuit of power.'

That sucks.

That Goes double for Joe Lieberman
