With Mother's Day approaching, it would be good for all of us in the Progressive Community to remind ourselves that Mother's Day did not start as a way to sell flowers or cards, but as a peace protest lead by Julia Ward Howe. This reading of the Mother's Day Proclamation is a reminder that we should consider the mothers of all of the children being injured and killed in the Iraq War, and that these young victims are a large part of the mission we've accomplished.
