Stars - but Not Here
It seems to be my lot in life to be well-known other places, but not where I am.
I run a state-wide blog from northwestern Wisconsin, but almost all our readers and writers are in Milwaukee and Madison (not to say that I'm not grateful for all you folks down there - but I wish I could get a little more interest going with the local citizenry). Our readership in Dunn County is just slightly higher than in India. Some weeks.
I run a web development business, but almost all my clients are in other states - Minnesota, California, New York ---. Local nonprofits and business just seem bewildered by this whole Web 2.0 thing.
Last election I was interviewed by (and got to blog for) the BBC. Does anyone in Wisconsin ask me to go on the radio? Nope.
I used to work as a computer consultant - I could fly all over the country and make money, but I don't remember ever having a gig in Wisconsin. Seems you need to be from out of town to be taken seriously.
Monday and Wednesday Bill Christofferson (you know, Xoff) and I will be on the Air America station in Portland, OR to talk about the Wisconsin primary. So - everybody drive on out to Oregon to hear about local politics! I'll try to get the audio for that put up after the election so you can all see how wrong we were.

Can
you get a live blog URL?
You know what they say
A prophet is never honored in his own country. Or something like that. I'm happily out of being a media source in Wisconsin, but this one seemed OK. They don't know me, so they might think I know something.
