Healthy Wisconsin Forum Chippewa Falls

Citizen Action of Wisconsin is sponsoring a forum on Healthy
Wisconsin; Your Choice, Your Plan at the Heyde Center in Chippewa
Falls on Monday, August 27th at 6:30 PM.

Healthy Wisconsin is the State Senate's bold new plan to try to fix
Wisconsin's broken health care system which is currently in the budget
conference committee. Dr. Robert Kraig and Steve Schwartz from
Citizen Action will be the main presenters. Both are knowledgeable on
the Plan and were instrumental in securing its adoption by the
Senate. Sen. Pat Kreitlow will also be speaking on Healthy Wisconsin.

'Radical' plan now 'stunningly ambitious'

Steve Walters, the Journal Sentinel reporter who decided that providing health care to everyone in Wisconsin was a "radical" plan, has backed off a bit.

In Tuesday's story on the state budget, he writes:

Republicans say its $15.2 billion annual cost would make Wisconsin the highest taxed state.

while failing to note that Democrats, backed by an independent study, say it will save more than $1-billion a year compared to current health insurance costs.
