Fran McLaughlin, who served as Scott Walker’s spokeswoman while he was Milwaukee County exec, was granted immunity today in the ongoing John Doe probe that’s already ensnared some of the guv’s former aides.

"This case is not about Governor Walker. It’s about somebody using his position to steal stuff.” -- Milwaukee Circuit Judge Dennis Cimpl, saying he will stay on a case involving one of Scott Walker's staffers, even though he signed a recall petition. 

Scott Walker's office today announced that he is creating a legal defense fund to cover the costs of his cooperating with the John Doe investigation.  Draw your own conlusions.

“For nearly two years, Milwaukee County officials have been examining issues related to former employees of the County. I have repeatedly pledged my cooperation with that inquiry. I also made it clear that no public money has been used, or will be used, to pay for the attorneys needed to review documents and assist me in cooperating.

"To fulfill my commitment, I have today formed a legal fund to pay for the expenses incurred in cooperating with the inquiry. The fund will operate in accordance with the Wisconsin law authorizing these accounts, which was passed almost thirty years ago.”

Update --- I don't think I will let you draw your own conclusions, since it appears that there's only one conclusion to draw --- Walker is either under investigation or has been charged.
