Wisconsin Assembly

For those of you following the Assembly saga

They're up to 27-1/2 hours in session.   They have still not reached a conclusion on the MATC bill.  The Democrats are basically continuing to try to stall a vote on MATC.  The Assembly has moved on to discussing SB 325 which will remove the restrictions on piers on navigable waters, which is yet another fairly nonsensical bill to try to remove an environmental restriction in the last-minute session. This is an attempt to change the law after the legislature had previously spent two sessions setting the rules.

There are still quite a few MATC amendments to consider. This could continue on well into the afternoon.

Featured: Emily Mills on gallery arrest revocation bill, and civil forfeitures

Occasionally we will be featuring what we think are important posts from other blog sites.  Emily Mills has written for some time for the Isthmus and Dane101 - she has recently stopped workth at the Isthmus and is devoting more time to political blogging at Dane101.  These are two articles you should read.  Highly Recommended.
