Crazy-great scene last night as Obama speaks before some 19,000 people in Madison, with overflow rooms housing the latecomers.

The UW-Madison art history emeritus prof next to me said the passion reminded him of RFK and the Vietnam Moratorium event in Madison in 1969, except a less angry, more clean-cut crowd.

Waiting over two hours, much of it in the cold, the crowd was electric as Obama entered, as flashes from cameras made a political moment that one feels you had be there to fully capture.

Madison, Wisconsin — “If the Democrats want to make this a brokered convention with a bunch of insiders (super delegates) deciding the nominee, the hell with them, I’ll vote for McCain. And I don’t even like McCain,” said a Barack Obama supporter over the weekend.

 It’s a sentiment being echoed across Wisconsin as its primary next Tuesday, Feb. 19, is garnering national scrutiny.
