I'm sad to report that legendary folk singer, lifelong Wobbly, and former senate candidate Utah Phillips died in his sleep Friday night.

Good, though.
I saw Utah in person several times, and he played a benefit for us during the Madison newspaper strike 30 years ago.
He said he was from Utah, where the men were men and the sheep were nervous, from trying to stay ahead of the Mormons and the Republicans. And that was long before Mitt Romney combined the two.
