The UW-Madison is looking for a new Chancellor, and some people mistakenly think that salary of nearly one-third of a million bucks a year, plus a house and a car, is not enough to find a new "CEO."

Both Minnesota and Iowa now pay nearly $500k to their top official. Wisconsin will need to pay a market rate in order to get the best candidate.

Yes, these other campuses also provide housing and autos to their CEOs. The fact that UW currently provides housing and a car is irrelevant.
