Commentary on state politics by Bill Christofferson, who often uses Xofferson or Xoff to shorten his 14-letter last name.
Christofferson, a recovered journalist and ex-political reporter, has been a Democratic strategist and consultant for 20 years and is now retired. He lives in Milwaukee.
He is the author of a political biography, "The Man From Clear Lake: Earth Day Founder Sen. Gaylord Nelson," published by the University of Wisconsin Press.

I don't get the analogy
Brett Favre is a sports figure. The others are politicians. I don't get the set up.
Obama for Preparation H
The commercial would depict how a single application of the cream shrinks Jeremiah Wright down to a manageable proportion. Likewise when a layer was applied to Hillary.
Barack would then look into the camera and smile, delivering the slogan:
"Preparation H. Brings relief to anyone suffering from annoying a**holes..."

Bret Farve is a dweeb by
Bret Farve is a dweeb by all conventional standards. I will admit, I HATE football (so weigh my opinion with that assumption). I could care less what Farve has to do or say. I'll never forget when the one/two? of the local Green Bay TV news programs gave the Farve family "heart-wrenching story" regarding hurricane Katrina. It was enough to make you sick.
I watched and listened for days as people truly suffered KNOWING that as a nation we could have helped. There was no question.
In the middle of it all we hear about the Farve's family supposed suffering. The Farve family CHOSE to stay in New Orleans. They had advanced warning AND the ability AND opportunity to leave, but didn't. Their home also wasn't in the devastated area. Yet, the Green Bay local news decided to highlight their "tragedy". It was debased. Propaganda in all it's purity!
While thousands suffered and some died in New Orleans, locally we were subjected to the Farve family "plight".
Farve is a bought and paid for lackey and he ought to be ashamed of himself. I'd say that goes DOUBLE for the local stations that spewed this rot.
Someone (I think it was here) said of the Green Bay Press Gazette, that it "was conservative". This is not the case. Conservatives (as opposed to current Republicans) can be honest and decent people. The Green Bay leadership and those in positions of power are PROPAGANDISTS. Which, to my way of thinking is just a politically correct term for BIG FAT LIARS.
BTW, this is common knowledge in Green Bay. It is also common knowledge that citizens don't "ever acknowledge that fact, if they know what's good for them". And the fact is: they don't. They're scared and THAT says something.
