(Madison, WI) The River Alliance of Wisconsin is launching "Twelve Days of Bidding" on Monday November 26 with its annual online auction. The nonprofit is taking advantage of the online holiday shopping tradition to raise money for keeping Wisconsin's rivers and watersheds clean, healthy and fun for everyone to enjoy.
This is the sixth year that River Alliance is hosting the auction which raises several thousand dollars annually for the organization. "We've always enjoyed good success with the event, but this year we thought it would be smart to hitch our wagon to the Cyber-Monday star," says Joanne Jacobson, Donor Relations Director. According to Jacobson, it was coincidence that the auction lasts for twelve days, although she says you probably won't find any Lords A Leapin' or Maids A Milkin' in the catalog.
In addition to being a great way to find special gifts for the holidays, the auction also offers bidders a way to show support for protecting Wisconsin's water. "Water is essential for life. It's connected to every aspect of our lives from drinking to bathing and recreation. Groundwater, rivers and lakes are all interconnected and deeply affected by people," said Denny Caneff, Executive Director. "This auction is an opportunity for individuals to make a positive contribution to helping sustain clean, healthy rivers."
The River Alliance's online auction will feature a fun and unique collection of goods and services, with most coming from beloved businesses located throughout Wisconsin. An evening of drinks and Wisconsin tavern history, an overnight canoe trip, a wildlife refuge tour, and a guided fly fishing excursion are just a few of the one-of-a-kind experiences offered in the auction.
The auction can be found at www.biddingforgood.com/wisconsinrivers. The auction will open Monday November 26 at 7am CDT, and bidding will continue through 8pm CDT on Friday December 7.
